FARM HOUSE - MORRIS CONNECTICUT This project was a design/build renovation of an 1880 farmhouse located in Northwestern Connecticut. Derelict outbuildings were torn down and the house was completely gutted, leaving only the exterior skin intact. The goal of the design was to preserve the building's vernacular austerity while creating a more modern internal organization of spaces that are equally suited for living, working and exhibiting art. Material choices were kept simple: a new aluminum roof, new rustic maple floors throughout, and cleft slate surfaces at all wet areas of the new bathrooms.
